Sailstar – Sailing Courses in Sweden and Greece
Sailstar offers sailing courses for adults and for youths accompanied by a guardian, both in Sweden (Viggbyholm, Täby) and in Greece. The courses vary from beginner level to advanced, with a focus on practical, safe and enjoyable sailing.

- What is Sailstar Sailing School?
A company offering sailing courses on different types of boats in Sweden and Greece. From age 16 and up. - Where is Sailstar located?
Our base is in Viggbyholm, Täby. We also run courses in Greece. - What types of courses do you offer?
Basic courses, racing courses, manoeuvring training, progression courses and more. We also offer weekday training sessions. - What ages are the courses for?
Mainly adults (from age 16), but younger participants from 14 are welcome with a guardian. - Do I need sailing experience?
No. We offer courses for complete beginners as well as more experienced sailors. For the basic courses you do not need to know anything – not even what bow or stern means.
Booking & Payment
- How do I book?
Via Book ehere! - How and when do I pay?
You pay at the booking but you can use Klarna or for a longer time of payment due. - Which payment methods do you accept?
Credit card, Klarna and Swish are accepted. You may also pay by bank transfer to Sailstar’s bankgiro 326-3118 (include your booking/invoice number).
Course Information
- What should I bring?
You will receive a course call-up. Dress according to the weather, bring layers, rainwear, sunscreen and optionally gloves (available for purchase on-site). - How long are the courses?
3–4 days in Sweden. Greek courses are 6 days (7 nights onboard). Training sessions last 2.5 hours. Manoeuvring courses on big boats last 3 hours. - What’s included?
Course material and book. On big-boat courses, accommodation and food are included.
Accommodation, Weather & Food
- Can you arrange accommodation?
We can suggest nearby options. AirBnB usually works well, and there is a Scandic Hotel in Täby. - What happens in bad weather?
Courses are rarely cancelled. We adapt the schedule or move the course day when necessary. - Food and drinks?
Bring your own lunch for courses in Viggbyholm. We provide drinks and fruit. A microwave is available.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancelling a Greece course:
- Up to 6 weeks before: loss of booking fee.
- Up to 2 weeks before: 50% refund.
- Later than 2 weeks: full course fee is charged.
- Cancelling a Swedish course:
- Up to 2 weeks before: loss of booking fee.
- Later than 2 weeks: full course fee is charged.
- If Sailstar cancels the course: You receive a full refund.
- If you have a valid reason, such as:
- Job termination
- Fire, flooding or burglary at home or workplace shortly before departure – you may cancel and receive a full refund. Documentation required.
- We will always try to rebook you to another course (within 12 months) if possible.
