Working at Sailstar
Do you want to work as a sailing course instructor, sailing school educator or head instructor? Apply to us at Sailstar! We are a great team of sailing instructors with Sweden’s widest range of sailing courses – from small dinghies via medium-sized keelboats to large cruising yachts – and we run courses in three countries. We are looking for people who are good sailors and who enjoy teaching sailing. It does not matter if you are younger or older, or whether you want to teach dinghy sailing or keelboat sailing – we need many different instructors.
What should you be able to do?
We are looking for experienced sailors, preferably with previous work experience from sailing courses or other types of instruction. If you are younger, you should preferably have attended a sailing school yourself, either with us or at a yacht club. It is of course an advantage if you have the certificates Förarintyg, Kustskepparintyg or Ship Master Class VIII. It is also beneficial if you speak several languages – Swedish and English are a requirement.
We are currently looking for:Sailing instructor – small keelboats and dinghies, Stockholm
For the 2025 season we are increasing the number of courses with our smaller and brand new Aira 22 keelboats. We need more instructors for these boats. The summer courses are mainly Monday–Wednesday and Thursday–Sunday, so your work schedule will largely follow these course blocks.
We are looking for someone who loves sailing and teaching, and who of course has solid sailing experience. We are recruiting both junior and senior instructors. At Sailstar we distinguish between head instructors, instructors and assistant instructors – there is room for instructors at several different levels.
Sailing instructor – large yacht
We are also looking for an instructor to work on our larger yacht, Operah, a Beneteau 50. The courses are held onboard with accommodation on the boat from Thursday to Sunday. You must be confident in both sailing and instructing, and you must hold Ship Master Class VIII. Courses always run Thursday–Sunday and you will handle provisioning for the boat on Wednesdays.
