Learn to sail on our modern Jeanneau Sun Odyssey yacht, departing from Lavrion, Greece.
Over six days we explore picturesque islands and learn sailing. You will have the opportunity to swim in turquoise water,
enjoy delicious Mediterranean food and visit charming coastal towns.
During the course you learn to sail and handle a large sailing yacht.
The focus is on sailing, manoeuvring, berthing, navigation and right of way rules. You also practise practical skills such as

Course content

What’s included
- Course: 6 days with theory and sailing
- Accommodation: 7 nights on the boat in shared double cabin (private cabin available at extra cost). Maximum six participants per boat.
- Tourist tax
- Course book: Our course book “Seglingens grunder” is included (value 369 SEK)
- Equipment: Life vests, bedding, towels and bath towels available on board during the course
Not included
- Travel to Lavrion, Greece and transport to the marina: We always create a WhatsApp group before the course starts so participants can share a taxi from the airport to the marina
- Diesel, harbour fees and national park fees: Approximately 1 000 SEK
- Food on board: Shared between participants
- Restaurant visits: Paid individually
Prerequisites
We offer both basic and continuation courses. The basic course requires no prior experience except swimming ability (200 m), while the continuation course requires completion of the basic course or Sailing Certificate 1.
Sailing certificates
After completing the course you will have the skills and knowledge to achieve Sailing Certificate 1. If you already have Sailing Certificate 1 and the theory course Förarintyg, you can also qualify for Sailing Certificate 2. During the continuation course you qualify for Sailing Certificate 3. A 50 PLUS boat
What is 50 PLUS?
This course is part of Sailstar’s 50 PLUS concept – a dedicated boat where all participants are 50 or older.
It creates a relaxed and comfortable environment where no one needs to feel pressure to keep up with younger sailors.
You don’t need to be retired – just 50+!
